Lawn Care Treatments

Lawn Fertilizer
We do not suggest using fertilizer with a high level of nitrogen as this could cause the grass growing faster but with a poor root structure. A better fertilizer will have the correct ratio between potassium,phosphorus and nitrogen and promote the grass to grow strong, long roots. Organic lawn fertilizers slowly liberate nutrients into the earth, do not cause over application which causes browning of the lawn and supplies lasting release of all the needed nutrients which is a good deal healthier for your lawn.
It isn’t a good idea to use products for weed control indiscriminately all over the lawn as this just adds chemicals to the environment and is unnecessary. Buy a weed killer that is labeled as safe to use on lawns and use it as a spot weed killer only. Use a pump spray and target the weeds, not spraying around all over the lawn. In March or April it’s a good idea to use fungus and insect control.
Grub worms (the larvae of June bugs) can be a problem in many areas and can cause brown spots to develop on your lawn. They can easily be dealt with by using a granular insecticide that is spread over the lawn and watered in. You can prevent them by the use of a suitable duting the early months of the year.
A thick and green lawn is able to withstand invasion by pests a great deal better than a thin, unhealthy lawn! Stick to these lawn tips for a healthy lawn you are proud of.
